A Priest’s Tale – Play by Michael Mears
September 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
The Priest’s Tale: The riveting story of a miraculous suitcase, a daring escape and the devastation wreaked on a city in a single instant by a nuclear bomb. A one man play written and performed by award winning actor Michael Mears of Wandsworth Quaker meeting.
Friday September 25, 7pm – 8.30pm, Kingston Quaker Centre, Fairfield East, Kingston, KT1 2PT. What3words: space.occupy.fresh.
Nuclear arms control is going into reverse. The START treaty expired earlier this year, North Korea already has nukes, Iran is accused of trying to develop them, Saudi Arabia has stated it will work to get nuclear weapons if Iran does, and South Korea is debating what to do – the list goes on. Quakers in South West London are raising awareness of the dangers involved with nuclear proliferation with the performance of a hard-hitting play based on one man’s experience of surviving the first use of the atomic bomb in war.
The Priest’s Tale has toured the UK, USA and Japan. Entry is free, the play will be followed by Q&A, and refreshments will be provided. Tickets are available via eventbright here.
