London-Wide Meeting for Worship and Screening of ‘National Emergency Briefing’ Film – Croydon
London Quakers are warmly invited to join a London-wide Meeting for Worship at Croydon Quaker Meeting House from 10.30-11.30 on Sunday 16 August. Following worship, Friends will be invited to stay for tea and coffee.
A light lunch of soup, bread and cheese and dips will be available. During the lunch break we will open the Adult School Hall for Friends to see, which is a grade II listed building in the Arts and Crafts architecture movement that was built in 1908 and given to the Religious Society of Friends by C Theodore Crossfield for the use of the Adult School Movement.
From 13.30-15.00 we will screen the National Emergency Briefing. The film presents the national implications of climate and nature breakdown – along with credible, positive responses – in a single, accessible account designed for screening in communities across the UK. We will watch the briefing and have a discussion on our reactions, reflections and responsibilities in the face of the climate crisis
Friends are welcome to come for the whole day, or just the morning or just the afternoon according to their availability and interest. We look forward to welcoming you. Any questions about the day can be emailed to croydonquakers@gmail.com.
